Robert Wagner and Jenny McCarthy had recurring roles in this season of the hit comedy series which include a crossover episode with CSI.
The show stars Charlie Sheen (Charlie) and Jon Cryer (Alan) as brothers sharing a Malibu house. On the weekends Allan’s son Jake (Angus T. Jones) also resides at the home, which was a bachelor pad for Charlie before Allan and Jake showed up five seasons ago. After his divorce, Alan had no where else to go. That was the start of this successful sitcom which continually lands in the top of the ratings. This season Charlie moves from writing jingles to writing kiddie songs and becomes an over-night success as Charlie Waffles. The songs might not be politically correct, but they are funny and the kids love them. The season also has a new life for young Jake who is now in junior high school, but is afraid of going after his father and uncle tell him all about the dangers that can arise. A Wedding and a DeathAnd the season has the boys’ mother Evelyn (Holland Taylor) marrying her fifth husband (Robert Wagner) who is well off. His daughter (Jenny McCarthy) quickly becomes involved with Charlie, to the frustration of Alan and for the delight of their housekeeper Berta (Conchata Ferrell) who always has a wise crack which she never fails to deliver without a straight face, making her one of the popular characters on TV. After the wedding things go awry and Evelyn quickly finds she is a widow. Just what happened and who was involved with her husband’s death? And who exactly was her husband anyway? There is a mystery that comes to light, but doesn’t disrupt the family’s sense of humor or the fun for which this group of characters is famous. Bonus FeaturesThe bonus features include a look at the 100th episode and a featurette about the “vanity cards” that air at the end of each episode. The vanity cards are written by creator and executive producer Chuck Lorre who describes how the cards began and the nonsense he writes on them. Two and a Half Men and CSI CrossoverThe season also contained a crossover episode with CSI, however it was the writers who changed for the episodes as opposed to the actors. The CSI writers helped write the episode where Robert Wagner’s character Teddy is found dead, and the Two and a Half Men writers created a CSI episode where a sitcom star is murdered. The CSI episode is included in this 3-disc DVD set.
